Well, I reluctantly put my Halloween fabrics aside...I could honestly make Halloween Art All Year!!! But then I get passionate about Christmas too. It's a little rough changing gears, but here is something I'm working on that will be coming out in the next few weeks...have to meet some other deadlines first.
At first, I intended him to be, of course, a Santa! But he defiantly told me he wanted to be a character in the bible! He suggested Moses! Some nerve! Said he thought parting the Red Sea would be fun.
I said FINE, you can be from the Bible, but you WILL be a humble Sheppard on Christmas Eve! At this point I thought he needed a little humbling!!! So, my good friends, this is the beginning of him and I already started on a sheep...if the wool doesn't start behaving better, there may only be one sheep!
Well that's all for now...Let me know what you think.

Halloween Annie
<
Halloween Annie’s body is somewhat petite …her head is not! She stands 22” with her hat on, about 19 with it off her big head (I guess she’s taller than I thought she was!). Annie is made of muslin that I have painted, sanded, stained and shaded for her prim look. Her hair is made of pearl cotton yarn and hand-stitched for permanent attachment. The pupils of her sparkly eyes are imported hand-blown German glass. Her eyelids are hand-stitched and her mouth is painted. Annies nose is felt that has been stitched, stuffed and hand-shaded.
Her hat and dress are made of a 100% cotton pumpkin print with coordinating bodice and apron. All Annies wear aprons don’t they? Hand-stitched pockets that are appliquéd with pumpkin colored stars that have been glittered and accented with vintage buttons. Her apron is trimmed in vintage style black metallic rick-rack. Her hat is my special two print party style ( I love making them as they add such an element of fun!) she also wears a four layer, ruffled collar of various Halloween prints and vintage rick rack. Belladonna is a bit little…her head is not! She stands” with from the tips of her pointed little toes to the top of her pointed big hat. (I guess she’s taller than I thought she was!). She is made of muslin that I have painted, sanded, stained and shaded for her prim look. The pupils of her sparkly eyes are imported hand-blown German glass. Her eyelids are hand-stitched and glittered. Her nose is hand stitched and sculpted for added dimension.
Her arms are not jointed, but are lightly wired to hold small objects such as her star balloons. Her legs are just floppy jointed and are somewhat posable as you can see with her holding her majic stars and sitting on her pumpkin!
Belladonna wears a little black and multi-color dress with hand stitched vintage ric-rac. Her collar has multiple ruffled layers of fabric .
She holds her balloons high and proud, ready for Halloween night! I’m quite sure she is riding her bike to the same party as my Tuxedo Tom!

Little Scare Bear
I am delighted to present to you Boggy Bottom’s Blackwater Bears & Dolls tm. Boggy Bottom Bayou’s Blackwater Bears & Dolls are a combination of my long love for folk art primitives and my even longer love for bears (way back when I was little!).
He is made out of muted gold, stained and distressed, very dense and wavy Schulte mohair. His paw pads are 100% Merino wool felt and his eyes are German hand blown glass. His nose is hand stitched and has been waxed to achieve an aged leather appearance. Scare Bear has clown face detail painted and hand-stitched to his cheeks. I have painstakingly distressed his fur to a well worn and loved look.
Scare Bears's hat is black felt and is adorned in fall colors. A toile painted wooden heart sits in the middle of his bow tie and his prim tag is attached by a rusty safety pin. Scare Bear is holding a rusty tin pumpkin garland.
This is not intended to be a toy for children or pets
